The Last Page
What is The Last Page?
The Last Page is the UCalgary Readers Society’s resident book club program.
Following a traditional book club structure, we plan to close-read a book on a monthly basis (though the time period may change given certain factors, such as the length of the book, the university’s academic schedule, etc.).
The Last Page meetings will provide a space for members to discuss those books in detail!
The Lage Page's Current Read
Theme: Is knowledge a privilege, and does it lead to freedom?
This month’s choice is… The Hunger Games!
Synopsis: “In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.”
